SARAH WADSWORTH
SHE/HER
Sarah, a JNC-licensed Youth & Community Worker since 2016, delivers youth programmes across clubs and schools, leading projects in leadership, sexual health, inclusion, and mental wellbeing for diverse young people.
Sarah has worked within the youth service since September 2014. During her time with the service, Sarah has had the privilege of working across all four youth clubs, with the majority of her experience based at the Youth Centre and Dolphins. This has given her a strong understanding of youth provision and the diverse needs of young people and communities. Sarah is particularly proud of establishing The Mingle, a project for adults with learning needs, developed in partnership with colleagues from education services and a local care agency. She has also led and delivered the Life Choice programme, engaging young people in learning about sexual health, relationships, and parenting in a safe, informative, and non-judgemental way. More recently, Sarah has led on the launch of the Young Leaders Programme, supporting 14–17-year-olds to develop confidence, leadership skills, and real experience within youth and community settings. Alongside this, she has worked in schools and colleges delivering informal and social education, supporting young people’s confidence, wellbeing, and life skills. At the heart of Sarah’s practice are strong values around equality, inclusion, and empowerment. She has a keen interest in supporting young people’s mental wellbeing and is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces where young people feel heard, respected, and supported. Sarah is also a committed ally to the LGBTQ+ community and actively works to ensure youth spaces are inclusive, welcoming, and free from discrimination
