Martin, a Youth Worker with 20+ years’ experience, leads Plater Youth Club and The Zone project, delivering targeted support programmes that help young people build confidence, skills, and positive futures.
Martin leads Plater Youth Club, where he works closely with children and young people aged 8-16, creating a safe, welcoming space where they can build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Martin has been involved in the Luce Foundation funded project that helps young people with limited opportunities to access outdoor education and travel, giving them new experiences that broaden horizons and raise aspirations. Alongside this, he works in schools delivering personal support projects, supporting young people with challenges such as low self-esteem, confidence, and friendship difficulties. He has also developed and co-led a specialist project supporting young offenders in custody, using his experience and empathy to help young people reflect, rebuild confidence, and work towards positive change. Martin currently leads The Zone project which works with young people aged 16-25, and helps them prepare CVs, explore job prospects, and connect with relevant employment opportunities.
